This role requires a strong blend of deep cyber security expertise, hands‑on project implementation experience, leadership and coaching skills, and a clear understanding of the IT staffing and talent development lifecycle.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Practice Leadership & Growth: Define and execute the cyber security practice roadmap, including service offerings, training tracks, certification paths, and GTM alignment with sales and account management teams.
  • Hands‑on Operations: Manage day‑to‑day operations of the cyber security practice, ensure effective utilization of trainers and SMEs, and drive growth of the cyber portfolio within the hire‑train‑deploy model.
  • Training Delivery: Design, develop, and deliver cyber security training programs (foundational to advanced) covering areas such as network security, cloud security, endpoint security, identity and access management, SIEM/SOC operations, and vulnerability management.
  • Curriculum & Lab Design: Build real‑world labs, simulations, and project‑based learning aligned to industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and in‑demand technologies (e.g., Azure/AWS security, Zero Trust, EDR/XDR tools).
  • Recruitment Partnership: Collaborate with recruitment teams to define ideal candidate profiles, assess incoming talent for cyber aptitude, and support technical screening and selection.
  • Project Oversight: Oversee and advise on client cyber security engagements delivered by deployed consultants, ensuring best practices, quality, and adherence to security policies and SLAs.
  • Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with clients to understand security needs, map them to training and deployment solutions, and position the practice as a trusted advisory capability.
  • Technical Innovation: Evaluate and introduce emerging security tools and methodologies (e.g., SOAR, threat intelligence, security automation) to keep the practice offerings current and competitive.
  • Performance Monitoring: Define, track, and report KPIs such as training completion, certification pass rates, deployment success, utilization, and client satisfaction to executive leadership.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure that training content, internal environments, and delivery practices align with regulatory and industry requirements (e.g., SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI‑DSS as relevant).
  • Thought Leadership: Represent the practice through internal tech talks, external webinars, and knowledge‑sharing sessions; mentor and coach consultants on cyber career paths and continuous learning.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • 12+ years of experience in IT with at least 8–10 years focused on cyber security project implementations, operations, or consulting across enterprise environments.
  • Proven, hands‑on leadership experience managing security teams, SOC analysts, or cyber SMEs, preferably in a consulting or services context.
  • Strong practical experience in several of the following: network security, cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP), IAM, SIEM/SOC operations, threat detection and response, vulnerability and patch management, data protection, and endpoint security.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering technical training, workshops, or enablement programs for engineers or consultants.
  • Solid understanding of security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, Zero Trust principles).
  • One or more advanced security certifications strongly preferred (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCSP, GIAC, OSCP, AZ‑500, SC‑200/300, Security+).
  • Good knowledge of IT staffing processes, hire‑train‑deploy models, and client relationship management in a services/staffing environment.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, or hybrid) and their application to security projects.
  • Ability to communicate complex security concepts to diverse stakeholders, including non‑technical audiences, clients, and executive leadership.
  • Strong analytical and strategic skills with the ability to build scalable practices, standardize processes, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Experience with staffing‑related technologies (ATS, CRM, LMS) and basic understanding of AI, cloud platforms, and data analytics as they relate to modern security operations.
